Boost your health and your workout with this slightly sweet smoothie.

I recently came up with this new recipe for a protein smoothie which is surprisingly good, and not to mention chock-full of health benefits.

Why Cinnamon?
Cinnamon has been used for thousands of years for its variety of health benefits. Cinnamon has anti-bacterial properties, anti-inflammatory properties, it's loaded with antioxidants, it has been used to help aid in the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes, and it has been used in studies to delay the on-set of Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. Cinnamon can also aid in controlling your blood sugar.

Shane Ellison, MS, a medicinal chemist explains: “(Cinnamon) works directly on the muscle cells to force them to remove sugar from the bloodstream, where it is converted to energy...”
Not to mention it tastes great. I don't add sugar to anything, EVER! But I add cinnamon to just about everything. It sends signals to the brain that satisfy the sweet craving, even though cinnamon is not actually sweet.

Next time you go to make a smoothie, try the CINNAMON KALE DETOX SMOOTHIE, it's s tasty!
